The Real Life GTO

I was going to code for Xcomic, but I spent the last hour reading the editorials written by an American guy who went to Japan to teach middle school, I think. He keeps his editorials (kind of like blog posts) up to date. His latest post was today actually! But I have to say, reading about his life in Japan shattered a lot of my conceptulizations that the Japanese are nice and reserved anime-like people that anime and manga portray them as (yeah, yeah, I know it’s foolish to generalize fictional stories to the whole Japanese population, but I can’t help it). This guy’s editorials are very well written and hilarious. He doesn’t really have a “blog”, but his editorials are what “blog” posts should be like! It reads like a book, after I read one account, I would advance to the next one and the next. He’s pretty much a mirror of the manga “Great Teacher Onizuka”. The scary thing is, if you read GTO, you can a pretty good idea of what this guy is saying that the Japanese educational system and students are like!

I’ve read those, too, although I think it was before the most recent year’s posts were up.

Wow, that’s like reading an anime. While reading some of those editorials I just couldn’t stop laughing.

Wow Christina, how come you always find stuff before anyone else does? What kind of awesome methods of web surfing do you employ?

    Dave: Exactly!
