See ya Pen-san!

Alright! The reason why this is posted “late” is because I didn’t count the Yellowstone trip as part of your “leaving for college.” “Sure Mike,” you may say, “that’s a pretty good excuse for writing this post late.” To that, I reply: “Thank you.”

Well, either way, this is a bit late. So yeah, that’s that. Well, let’s see what I can write for you. I’m not in my writing mode these days, admittingly, so this may turn out to be really crappy.

Anno, as a friend, I also extend the right to communicate with me ;) (I’m trying to talk big here), and I will offer any help I can.

So, thanks for teaching me a bunch of stuff throughout high school and for keeping me on my wit. In those days, our conversations were awesome and fun although I must admit that it was a huge time sucker and trained me in the art of “Steve Mann”—mainly, how to finish homework in homeroom and how to pass tests on five minute study sessions. Nevertheless, I enjoyed your influence. Even today, I still catch myself doing something and then thinking to myself: “Hey, that’s an Allison-like behavior.”

Our science/math talks/chats were great! Every time I try to explain something or think I know enough about some topic, you ask confounding questions that causes me to spend hours trying to find answers (and learning more along the way).

This leads me to another point: When ever I end up talking to you, our conversations drag on to hours! Admittingly, this is one of the reasons why I stopped going on AIM a lot and a minor reason why I try not to talk to you too much ^^;;. Note: Yeah, I kind of say the above in a joking manner. This is a good thing that we can talk for so long.

Okay, I’m forgetting what I was meaning to say so I’ll try to end it now. It’s been a pleasure knowing you throughout high school (and a bit of middle school too). Thanks for all the fish and all of the book recommendations. I wish you the best of luck at MIT, the impostor institute of technology since we all know that there is only ONE ring, er, institute of technology: Caltech ;).

    I was starting to wonder… considering I left like… a good week and a half ago =P

Why am I -san? I shouldn’t be. If nothing else, we are equals. (Well, except for you going to the Other Institute of Technology.) ;)

    You ROCK.

    Well… considering we pretty much always talked through AIM and the phone anyway, this shouldn’t really make *that* much of a difference in the amount we talk, should it? Except of course, now I’m actually going to have to do homework, unlike what I did for the entirety of high school. Are you going to have a cell phone/dorm phone at That Other Institute of Technology? My cell is still the same, and you’re welcome to call me any time of the day or night if you wanna chat. Yes, for hours. Because that is what I do. ^^;

There are always fish here for ya, though they may be somewhat more platonic these days (admittedly, they’re still not 100% platonic, but… I’m working on it… shut up). I will also do my best to remain as full of confounding questions as I ever have been, if only to bug the hell out of you. Because that is what I do, too.

I am really happy that I have known you, Mike. Of course, I will continue to know you throughout college, but as this is some sort of “milestone” or something, I guess it’s a good time to act all nostalgic and crap. Maybe it’s just me, but the word “nostalgia” always reminds me of “ambrosia”, which is nectar of the gods but I think it also means whale vomit. Isn’t that a lovely thing, nauseous whales? Nostalgia, ambrosia, nausea. Such strange words.

Sorry, I got off topic. Because… yep, that is what I do.

In conclusion, I have always really, really, really enjoyed every moment of the little time I get to spend talking with you (or at you, as the case frequently is), so please don’t cut me off! I NEED it, man! *ahem* I mean uh, please don’t stop talking to me now that we’re rivals and all. One of these days we’ll unite CalTech and MIT into the SUPER INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY and take over the world with our combined superpowers and extreme knowledge of all things calculus.

In conclusion v.2.0, I think it is WICKED COOL that you still think things are Allison-like. Or Allison-ish or Allisony (which is what you’ll get when I take over the electronics giant known as Sony). I see stuff and wonder “what would Mike think of that?” or “what does Mike know about that that I don’t and we could talk for hours about?”. I still think you’d love it here. And I hear jokes a lot that I think you’d really appreciate, too. One of these days, I’ll write them all down and read them to you rapid-fire on the phone. “One of these days” most likely meaning “once we’ve already taken over the world and I have nothing better to do and you remind me”, because we both know I am a procrastinomaniac.

    Because that’s what I do. <><3.

Wow, rereading my comment is like reading an essay. I’m sorry… that just came out too structured and coherent to be my writing… a doppelganger did it! I swear, it was one of them! Gahhhhhhh!

Again… you are way too awesome for words.

I MISS YOU! Stupid CalTech. You belong at MIT with me. Hell, you belong there more than I do.

  6. What?! I didn’t even say anything nice in my comment!

What?! Caltech’s super-awesome! MIT’s nice too. They’re all fine schools.

    S.I.T.? That sounds like a puppy-training school.
