I was *not* sick today!

4 #

Gar! Contrary to what you may believe or what Eugene may have said:

[16:30] FraGhil: eugene said you go[t] herpes and died.

I was not sick today! In fact, I’m extremely, perfectly healthy! I was planning to make a dramatic entrance into school today before the end of the day, but I got home late (had to wait for a ride) from my meeting with Dr. Ponzy Lu at the University of Pennsylvania.

I made it back to school at 2:40PM, but that was when everyone already left. I did meet with Mr. Eshelman and discuss plans for tomorrow’s PClassic competition at UPenn. Mr. Eshelman can’t make it tomorrow, but we (me, Euge, My-na, and Franco) will still go!

Therefore, I just wanted to make it clear that: 1) I wasn’t sick today. 2) I did go to the afterschool “meeting” for the PClassic competition.

Bandwidth Exceeded Error

2 #

Sorry to people who received the “Bandwidth Exceeded Error”. The robotics animation received 3GB of bandwidth traffic in just three days! Since I keep my account on a strict bandwidth limit, my account automatically shut down after the limit was reached. I increased the bandwidth now and hopefully it will last for another while.

[22:48] paradoxialmaniac: how do you know the match was postponed
(This is regarding the Notre Dame, et al. match)
[22:48] mikeXstudios: I spoke to my source
[22:49] paradoxialmaniac: which is?
[22:49] mikeXstudios: undisclosed
[22:50] paradoxialmaniac: really? i know all
[22:50] mikeXstudios: you don’t know
[22:51] paradoxialmaniac: oh i know
[22:51] paradoxialmaniac: i’m omniscient
[22:52] mikeXstudios: fine, then I won’t tell you
[22:52] mikeXstudios: since you already know
[22:52] paradoxialmaniac: yes

Wow, he’s one scary person!

Robotics Animation Completed!

3 #

Yes, I know this is kind of late. I’ve been shut inside my High School for the past 3 days working on the animation with the rest of Royal Assault’s Animation Team (Eugene, Prasant, Sam, Melissa, Ben, and Imran). My phone lines decided to cop out on my yesterday so I couldn’t access the internet at all to post.

Eugene has the synopsis from his point of view of our last few days. The team’s finished animation can be viewed in its final form here:

  • Education FIRST” - Royal Assault’s 2005 Autodesk Animation Entry (~2 minutes) [10.5MB] in the DivX codec (Needed to play the animation). (To Download: Right click and Save Target As)
  • FIRST Gangster Rap” - The soundtrack to the animation. This was our “thinking out of the box” idea for this year seeking to express our message in a slightly different style (~35 sec) [1.4MB] in mp3. (To Download: Right click and Save Target As)
  • Screenshots in jpg and bmp format

Past animation entries included:

  • Engineering New Frontiers” - Royal Assault’s 2004 Autodesk Animation Entry (~1.5 minutes) [9.4MB] in DivX.
  • FIRSTMAN” - Royal Assault’s 2003 Autodesk Animation Entry (~1.5 minutes) [7.2MB] in DivX.

New Look? I’ve upgraded!

If you are wondering about the new look, it is the result of an upgrade to version 1.5. Don’t get too comfortable, however. I will be converting this snazzy layout back into my old minimal text style soon.

RFID Tags in School: A Failure

RFID tags fail in school (Hat tip: Slashdot). The very idea of using RFID tags in school was a very bad idea in the first place.

Overdue Books at the Library

3 #

Well, well, well, it’s that time again when I finally realize that perhaps my library books that I checked out weeks ago might actually be due. In fact, when I checked, they were overdue! For some reason, this seems to be happening to me more and more often ^^;.
