About - name

mikeXstudios was a name/logo/company that I created in 1996-1997 (Somewhere around that time period). It was in fifth grade (I went to Aronmink Elementary School) I remember, when me and this girl who was in my class started labeling our school work with our logos. Her’s was Liztron(tm) and mine at the time was: Mikex Studios(tm).

Soon my company name changed into Mikexstudios(tm) instead of Mikex Studios(tm). But still, the name looked lame. Finally in Sixth Grade (This was in Drexel Hill Middle School), I made the M lower case, and the x upper case. The result was this: mikeXstudios(tm).

I started learning about computers when I was in Kindergarten, where we got to use PowerPC Macs. Then in Third Grade I got a Packard Bell Legend 2440 PC (Yes, I know, Packard Bells are lame, but at that time it was like an eMachine). When I first got the computer, I knew my goal was to learn how to program games. I didn’t get to my goal yet. Then between fifth and sixth grade I got interested in Hacking, but my definition at the time of hacking was to break into computers and steal $ or credit cards and Government passwords. But even still, when I started hacking, I took a vow that I would never damage or steal anything. I just wanted to hack, but not for profit or anything. When I first started searching the net for hacking sites, all I found were canned cracking/hacking programs. At that time, I just though hacking was just running these programs (Of course I couldn’t get them to run….). Those hacking sites were probably made by wanna be crackers that just want to impress their friends by making a “cracking” web page. Those sites were so bad, they didn’t even teach me that I needed Linux to hack! All they told me was to crack Unix passwd files with Cracker Jack. I didn’t even know how to telnet into a computer yet!

The magical breakthrough was in this year when [the tired of finding cracking web sites me] clicked on a link to the happyhacker site. Little did I know that it would bring me into a world of information warfare, and give me all of the knowledge and skills to participate in it.

Thanks for listening.

Hey man, I’ve been reading stuff on your site for the past hour(?) or so. I’m working tech support right now, and your site makes me really jealous. I got to this point, and had to say something. I’m a senior at Purdue studying Computer Engineering, and am just thinking about starting a company, and my passions are just starting to come to the surface. I can’t believe all that you’ve done. I mean, I don’t know weither to say “Congradulations”, or “Teach me!”. I kinda glimpsed over something about the classes you were in sophomore year in high school, and said something like ‘how do I take all of these classes?’. Well, there is no doubt that whatever you end up doing (hopefully not one thing) it will be good for the world. We need more smart people with your mentality, unbelivable.

Anyway, I’m looking into doing some side projects, and am looking for a little help. A friend of mine and I are thinking about creating an autonomous caravan of cars/trucks/motorcycles. Basically autonomous traffic, like in the Movie “Minority Report”. Obviously, for travelling purposes, we need to utilize GPS, Sonar, (bluetooth, rf, fm, other wireless protocols), and some ‘cruise control’ like functions for cars. I don’t mind if you steal this idea, because I don’t intend on profiting from it yet. The reason I’m explaining this to you, is because I think you could help us out. You have plenty of passion for what you do, and neither of us are too good at OOP. We can handle all of the hardware/assembly, and possibly the controls inside the cars, but to make an interface (GUI)/touchscreen and all of that, we need some help.

What do you say? If you’re at all interested, please shoot me a mail at henrybg AT purdue DOT edu.
